Hi, I'm Martina

I am the voice behind Macrè Bag, the Italian brand that shares and teaches the art of crochet bags. But if Macrè exists, it's because before me there was my mother Ilaria — with over 50 years of crocheting experience, and everything she taught me.

How Macrè Bag was born

Macrè didn't start as a business idea, but from a family passion. My mother Ilaria has been crocheting since she was a girl: basic stitches, complex patterns, custom finishes — everything we teach today in our tutorials and share on our blog first passed through her hands.

I have a different background: I work in marketing and digital communication. And it is precisely this combination — Ilaria's artisan tradition and the digital approach I bring — that gave life to Macrè Bag. Quality yarns, carefully selected accessories, video tutorials, complete kits: all designed to make learning crochet easy, contemporary, and accessible.

Our mission

To pass on to new generations an ancient art that was being lost. Crochet is not a grandma's pastime: it is a creative, sustainable, deeply Italian language that allows anyone to transform a ball of yarn into a unique object. And we are here to guide you step by step — never alone.

Made in Italy, for real

The yarns we sell come from Tuscan artisan companies with a long textile tradition. They are OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified — the international guarantee of no harmful substances — because the yarn spends many hours in your hands, and this is non-negotiable for us.

Always on the ball

To write a credible crochet blog and curate the selection of yarns and accessories, it's not enough to know how to make bags: you need to closely follow the industry. That's why I regularly participate in the main Italian crochet and creative textile fairs — Abilmente, Model Expo, Passion in Fiera, Fantasy & Hobby — to stay updated on trends, techniques, new yarns, and new products that then make their way into your Macrè kits.
